Continuing to take concrete steps in the field of sustainability for a greener world, Omsan Logistics is entitled to receive ‘Green Logistics Certificate’ within the scope of the ‘Combined Transport Regulation’ issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye to support balanced, integrated, environmentally friendly and sustainable freight transportation.
Focusing on customer satisfaction with its environmentally friendly, integrated, digital and sustainable services, Omsan Logistics has taken its place among the first logistics companies to receive the ‘Green Logistics Certificate’ issued by the Directorate General for Regulation of Transportation Services of the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye. Omsan Logistics, one of the OYAK Group Companies, received the ‘Green Logistics Certificate’ after meeting the criteria in the ‘Regulation on Combined Transport’ issued to support balanced, integrated, environmentally friendly and sustainable freight transportation.
All applications and services are environmentally friendly
Omsan Logistics’ headquarters building, Pelitli, Anatolia and Tuzla warehouses and Bursa maintenance area have the ‘Zero Waste Certificate’ approved by the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change. The headquarters, Tuzla warehouse and Bursa park areas also have ‘ISO 14001 Environmental Management System’.
More than half of the packaging purchased by Omsan Logistics for use in warehouse and home transportation has FSC (Forest Management System) certificate within the scope of green packaging efforts.
Expands EU-compliant vehicle fleet
Purchased motor vehicles in compliance with the ‘Euro 6’ exhaust emission standards to be used in road transport within the scope of compliance with the European Union emission standards, the company will continue to expand its fleet with new ‘Euro 6’ motor vehicles in 2023.
The duration of the ‘Railway Safety Management System’ (DEYS) certificate issued by the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure of the Republic of Türkiye, which allows the company to operate on national railway lines, was extended for five years in 2022.
Omsan Logistics, which has prevented the pollution of 12.5 billion tons of water with the amount of waste oil it has disposed of since 2021, continues to plant saplings on behalf of each of its employees on their birthdays. Within the scope of the application, 5 thousand 345 saplings have been planted since 2020. The saplings saved the same amount of 128,280 tons of carbon savings that a 90 thousand square meter forest area would provide.
Omsan Logistics aims saving 10,488 tons of carbon emissions, equivalent to the oxygen given by 455 thousand 995 trees in an area of 1 million 500 square meters, between 2022 and 2023, with the import-export train services started in September 2022 with Metrans, one of the strongest transportation companies in Europe.
